Privacy Policy

PingStand is built to need as little of your data as possible. Your health information stays on your device. We don't run servers that collect it, we don't require an account, and we never sell your data.

With your permission, PingStand reads activity data from your device's health store — Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android — specifically your watch's stand-time and your phone's step count — to confirm whether you met your hourly movement goal. This data is read on your device, used on your device, and is never transmitted to us or any third party. PingStand only ever readsthis data; it never writes to your health store. You can revoke access at any time in your device's health settings (on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Health; on Android, the Health Connect app).

The goals, active hours, days and preferences you configure are stored locally on your device. They aren't uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes them.

If you enable reminders, PingStand schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated and delivered on-device and don't involve our servers.

PingStand is free for 7 days, then unlocks with a single one-time purchase — there's no subscription. Payment is processed by the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android, so we never see your payment details. Your unlock status is managed through our payments provider, RevenueCat, using an anonymous identifier that is not tied to your name or email. This lets the app know whether you've unlocked it and lets us grant complimentary access on request. It is not linked to your health data.

PingStand does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles about you.

For the limited data we do process — your anonymous unlock status via RevenueCat — PingStand is the data controller. You can reach us about any data matter at info@pingstand.com. Your health data and settings are never sent to us, so we are not a controller or processor of that information — it stays under your control on your device.

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

• Consent — reading your health data and sending notifications happen only after you grant permission, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in your device settings.
• Performance of a contract — processing your anonymous purchase and unlock status through Apple and RevenueCat is necessary to provide the app you paid for.
• Legitimate interests — keeping the app secure and functioning, where this does not override your rights.

Our payments provider, RevenueCat, is based in the United States, so your anonymous unlock identifier and purchase status may be processed there. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). No health data leaves your device, so it is never transferred internationally.

Health data and settings live only on your device and are deleted when you delete the app. Your anonymous unlock record is retained by RevenueCat for as long as needed to recognise your purchase across reinstalls; you can ask us to delete it (see your rights below).

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because health data and settings never leave your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly by adjusting iOS permissions or deleting the app. For the anonymous data held by RevenueCat, email us at info@pingstand.com and we will action your request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

PingStand is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13.
